I bought Blu-ray with a copy of the movie, what is it and can I make a normal DVD from it? 3
This is license numbering ... so you have the right to store copyrighted movies on your portable devices (iPod, MP3, iPne) and you will not be charged with copyright infringement.
They have a crystal version, you don't need a normal DVD, just download it to your portable device.
Dial Copy is the movie version for iTunes or Windows Media. It is protected by DRM (Dial Rights Management). As far as I know, it is not possible to make a normal DVD from a numbered copy file, just save a copy to your computer or transfer it to a portable device like iPod. Movies usually come with an additional DVD called dial copy. You take this disk, put it in your computer and you will be asked for the key code which is on a small piece of paper in the box (you can seldom do it, so you are on the computer where you are Doing this, keep a copy in the box. Party Non-iPod Party Devices).
The numbered copy is for the iPod. You can convert it to MPEG2 format for DVD, but the BD version doesn't mean it looks good on your TV, so use the dial-up copy on your iPod (or not). Converting to DVD for playback on your TV or computer will be a waste of your BD copy. Don't worry if you want to give it to your friends. You can download most movies in minutes and save time.
